Two local fishermen Elias Alexandropoulos and his brother Kosta caught a nearly 500-pound swordfish on June 23 off New Hampshire and brought it to Wentworth Marina in New Castle — where it was prepared before being sold to a local seafood market for Granite Staters and visitors to enjoy.

On June 21, first mate RJ Lincoln took a group on a bachelorette cruise and said they saw a 30-foot basking shark off Rye Harbor that was as long as their 40-foot boat.

Later, they spotted a smaller shark that hit its tail fin against the boat — scaring the passengers, Lincoln said after decades in the fishing business.
