On a Sunday morning in March, many New England pinball fans gathered at Funspot in Laconia to compete in the New England Pinball League finals where 192 players played for cash prizes and bragging rights.

The event showed a strong comeback for classic pinball machines—league play now takes place at arcades, brewpubs and home clubs—and the sport is growing about 20% each year.

On Monday morning, 900 second-grade students from Nashua public schools took a free field trip to the Pete the Cat musical at the Nashua Center of the Arts arranged by Nashua Community Arts with help from Spectacle Live—funds were raised at a charity gala last summer.

The show, based on a popular series of children’s books, offered two live performances to give the children a memorable theater experience.

Following a lengthy public hearing Tuesday on his proposed Fiscal Year 2026 budget, Manchester Mayor Jay Ruais recommended boosting the school budget—one alderman called the process kabuki theater.

Rick Brenner is leaving his 15-year role as Fisher Cats president to teach full-time at Plymouth State University (his alma mater) and his final day with the team will be May 1.

This move comes as Brenner, a two-time Eastern League Executive of the Year, shifts his focus to mentoring the next generation of sports professionals.
