ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday night, a bright fireball streaked across the sky and was caught on a dashcam near Portsmouth Traffic Circle (5:59 p.m.); residents in Nashua, Londonderry, and other communities reported the meteor, which experts say burned up before reaching the ground. WMUR

- ➤ Derryfield boys' basketball won the Mike Lee tournament game on Dec. 28 with a 63-42 score over Inter-Lakes. Key plays from Jackson Downs and Blake Mozgov helped secure the victory. WMUR
- ➤ The Patriots clinched the AFC East title after defeating the New York Jets 42-10 Sunday afternoon and the Bills’ loss to the Eagles sealed the title later. Quarterback Drake Maye threw for 256 yards and five touchdowns, and the Patriots now hold a 13-3 record. WMUR
