  • Balin Books will host a fundraiser on Saturday, Dec. 27 at its Amherst St. location, inviting volunteers from Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter to accept donations and share key details about their services.   • New Hampshire Fish and Game urged winter hiking preparations after rescue crews aided two hikers who fell into a brook Friday night at Mount Monadnock in Jaffrey (the hikers had no food, water, warm clothes or proper gear and received treatment for cold weather injuries).  WMUR
