- ➤ An anonymous donor will match donations up to $125,000 for the Spirit of Giving Food Drive to aid local households during the holiday season. Contributions are being accepted online and at select stores statewide, aiming to support 30,000 households this season. WMUR

- ➤ Mel’s Funway Park is turning a Halloween fright show into a holiday light spectacular as the park hosts festive displays and treats. Erin’s kids (recently returned from college) help continue the local tradition by making a no-bake treat for the holidays. WMUR
- ➤ Tonight in Derry, Kelly M. Socia drives a neon-decorated Christmas Light Tour Bus that picks up the (Lovely Ladies of the Lake) to tour shimmering holiday displays at local homes, including one with 52,340 lights while passengers sing carols and share festive moments. WMUR
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Conservation Law Foundation is appealing an EPA permit — issued on Nov. 3 — that allowed PFAS chemicals to be discharged from Manchester’s wastewater treatment facility and 15 sewer overflow points into local waters. - ➤ Organizers at Saint Anselm College said Friday that the state faces a severe housing shortage as Mayor Ruais projects a 60,000-unit deficit by 2030 and Sen. Murphy reports a 59% increase over four years - CEO Michael Skelton urged building more housing to spur future growth. WMUR
- ➤ In Manchester today, Sen. Maggie Hassan said lawmakers plan to seek an extension on health care tax credits under the Affordable Care Act ahead of open enrollment in January, as national leaders signal a willingness to return to negotiation to help curb rising premiums. WMUR
- ➤ NH Dept. of Safety Commissioner Robert L. Quinn signed an emergency order on Dec. 12 to lift driver hour limits for carriers delivering home heating fuel amid freezing forecasts — the order requires drivers to carry a printed copy and expires at midnight Jan. 4. Nashua Ink Link
