EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Sean O'Brien of UNH Cooperative Extension explained root cellaring, an old method that uses cool, moist or dry conditions to store produce, at New Hampshire Audubon's Massabesic Center in Auburn today. He outlined how precise temperature and humidity can keep fruits and vegetables fresh for months. WMUR
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Dec. 4, the budget review committee recommended a $300,000 appropriation from surplus funds for a resource center that will offer key services for the unhoused (help with IDs and housing). The city is negotiating a location and plans to pilot hiring unhoused residents next fiscal year. Nashua Ink Link
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ New Hampshire Fish and Game warned that ice must be 4-6 inches thick for safe walking and 8-10 inches for vehicles during a briefing Friday in Manchester. Officials urged residents to check ice conditions carefully before heading out this winter+ WMUR
