COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Spirit of Giving Food Drive supports the NH Food Bank starting Friday, Dec. 12 and runs through Dec. 14. Local shoppers at Hannaford, Shaw's, and Walmart can donate (every $1.28 provides roughly two meals) to help families facing food insecurity.  WMUR
  • Viewers have voted for the best Christmas tree farms in New Hampshire; Donaghey Tree Farm in Pembroke ranks first, with Grandpa's Farm in Loudon and Wild Meadow in Danbury following, and they praise scenic trees, delicious apple cider & warm service.  WMUR

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Nashua Center for the Arts is selling tickets today at 10 a.m. for five upcoming shows — including Boat House Row, Rocky Mountain High Experience, Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Dirty Deeds and The Machine — at its downtown venue, 201 Main Street with seating for 500-1,000 patrons.  Nashua Ink Link
  • Carbon Leaf will perform tomorrow at Tupelo Music Hall in Derry at 8 p.m., offering a mix of indie rock, country, folk, bluegrass and Celtic sounds to loyal fans. The band will use the show to highlight its DIY approach and energize the local music scene.  Nashua Ink Link

HEALTH NEWS

  • FDA announced a recall of over a million bags of shredded cheese sold at retailers including Walmart, Target, Aldi, and Publix as they may contain metal fragments (check UPC codes to confirm if your product is affected); Nashua consumers should inspect their refrigerators and discard any recalled items.  WMUR
  • In October, Nashua recorded 18 suspected opioid overdoses + no fatalities while Manchester reported 17 overdoses with three deaths. Overall, numbers are below the 12-month average, though Nashua’s overdose rate is 9% lower than last year while its suspected opioid deaths are 26% higher than 2024.  Nashua Ink Link

SPORTS NEWS

  • WMUR in Manchester revealed the official 2026 Boston Marathon jacket featuring the iconic blue and yellow colors and the catchphrase (Catch me if you can) on the left sleeve. The 130th edition of the race is scheduled for April 20.  WMUR
  • Franklin Pierce women's soccer will travel to face the 15th-ranked Golden Rams from West Chester University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the Division II NCAA Elite Eight quarterfinal as the Ravens try to secure a Final Four spot after last year's loss.  WMUR
