ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Tuesday, police responded to dozens of spinouts and minor crashes across New Hampshire as the first statewide snowstorm blanketed roads with slick conditions—drivers were urged to slow down and keep a safe distance, with the storm expected to ease around midnight.  WMUR
  • Firefighters fought a fire that spread to at least two buildings in Nashua yesterday — using defensive operations as residents were evacuated for safety.  WMUR

BUSINESS NEWS

  • A New Hampshire lottery player won $150,000 in Monday night's Powerball drawing by matching four of the five winning numbers on the NH iLottery app and paying extra for the Power Play portion that tripled his $50,000 prize—there was no jackpot winner and three players across the country received $1 million. The estimated jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing stands at $775 million.  WMUR

EDUCATION NEWS

  • New Hampshire Job Corps is now enrolling young people ages 16-24 for free training in skilled trades and offers housing, meals, health care, and job search help (the training covers areas like manufacturing, maintenance, lodging, medical assistance and more). Applicants from low-income households may qualify if they receive benefits such as SNAP or free school lunches.  Nashua Ink Link
  • New Hampshire’s education freedom account program now has 10,510 students and will spend $51.6 million this school year while the share of low-income students fell to 19%—a drop from 39% last year after income limits were removed.  New Hampshire Bulletin
  • Today, due to heavy snow with up to 10 inches expected and icy roads, local schools are canceled and students practice traditions like wearing pajamas inside out and doing a snow dance for luck. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • New Hampshire Executive Councilor John Stephen, 63, suffered a cardiac event while running on Sunday and is now receiving excellent medical care as he works toward recovery. He serves District 4 and his condition is being closely monitored by his family.  WMUR
  • The state will add center-line—rumble strips or raised roadway patterns on Route 3/11 Bypass as part of a larger resurfacing project in the coming months.  New Hampshire Union Leader

SPORTS NEWS

  • Former Patriots quarterback and longtime analyst Scott Zolak praised the team's performance after their 33-15 win over the Giants on Monday, which moved them to a league-leading 11-2 record and a 10-game winning streak—marking a major step forward for the organization.  WMUR
