COMMUNITY NEWS

  • New Hampshire nonprofit Nourish New England will host the World Christmas Market on December 13 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and December 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Anheuser-Busch Merrimack Biergarten (221 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack) to celebrate global holiday traditions with food, crafts and live music.   • The Special Olympics Champions Together Breakfast held Friday in Manchester honored athletes and volunteers — with keynote speakers Thomas Cantara and Ray Bourque stressing the value of inclusion and hard work.   • Foster and Adoptive Resource Exchange — a New Hampshire group — is collecting gifts for foster and adopted children this holiday season to help families have a joyful holiday.   • Reni Mylonas runs Agape Cakes and Confections in Raymond—where she honors her Greek heritage by baking standard and miniature pies with flaky crusts in flavors such as pumpkin, pecan, blueberry, and apple crumb.   • Brendan Ryan from Conway works as a principal at Alpine Solutions and helps ski resorts across the country build custom snowmaking plans—his expertise guides resorts like Sugar Bowl to prepare for warmer, more humid conditions.  WMUR

  • The New Hampshire Council on Housing Stability released its 2025-28 plan to remove rules that slow building affordable homes + boost help for people at risk of homelessness. HEALTH NEWS

  • A Dartmouth Health doctor warns that kratom—an herbal supplement sold at most gas stations—can be addictive for some users and advocates for more oversight with age restrictions, third-party testing, and proper labeling. Nashua has already limited sales to adults 21 and older to help reduce the risk of addiction.  WMUR

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • A former hazardous waste site in Nashua will be cleaned up for $31 million over about a year before developers start a $350 million project to build 546 mostly affordable homes—officials said the site, once a tannery contaminated with heavy metals, will be safe for construction after cleanup is completed.  WMUR

SPORTS NEWS

  • Tonight, Nashua South will face the undefeated Bulldogs in the state semifinals at Bedford High School at 7 p.m. Head coach Josh Porter said his team has improved from an earlier close loss and that senior quarterback Cody Jackson is leading a talented squad ready for the challenge — hoping to turn past setbacks into a strong comeback.  Nashua Ink Link
