BUSINESS NEWS

  • Wholesale turkey prices will be up 40% for Thanksgiving because of increased bird flu cases, but New Hampshire turkey farmer Steve Hurd of Hurd Farm in Hampton—who has not seen rising costs—kept his prices steady as his feed prices remained unchanged, and his farm turkeys are nearly sold out with a few available.  WMUR

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Since a $35 million state funding cut was imposed last June, New Hampshire universities and community colleges have partnered to expand transfer pathways and offer flexible degree options, including Plymouth State’s new three-year bachelor’s program—an effort aimed at easing tuition burdens and speeding degree completion. Officials reported a 36% increase in community college transfers and plan to develop 44 more pathways—steps taken as enrollment declines and budgets tighten.  New Hampshire Bulletin
