A New Hampshire nonprofit, Operation Care for Troops, is making over 1,500 holiday stockings for deployed military and asking for donations (protein bars, hydration drink mix, hand and foot warmers, and winter socks) to support troops, veterans and at-risk service members this holiday season. The group also ships care packages to those abroad and helps homeless veterans at home.

Leda Lanes was torn down on Amherst Street in Nashua to clear the way for a new plaza—Lake Estate also opened to offer fresh retail and dining options as the area transforms.

These changes mark an ongoing shift in the local shopping landscape.

At Windham High School, the Challenger Cheer team gives adaptive athletes the chance to perform with peers as part of a program launched by coach and parent Alyssa Hunt to include children with special needs; athletes from Windham and Londonderry join the effort (with peer mentors helping to teach cheer skills). This inclusive program offers a new way for local students to build confidence and be part of a supportive team.

Martha’s Restaurant is serving a full week of holiday pies—ranging from savory pot pies and English pork pies to Lebanese meat pies made with perseverance and a family touch.

This pie week offers local diners a mix of hearty and unexpected flavors to celebrate the season.

Friday night, Cody Jackson led Nashua South's Purple Panthers to a 31-14 win over Bishop Guertin at Stellos Stadium—putting the team one win away from the championship game as they will face top-ranked Bedford in the semifinals.
