COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The Alliance for Greater Good — a community nonprofit — collects new hats, gloves, scarves and socks for children and adults as part of its Share the Warmth campaign and will distribute them at Gather's Thanksgiving meal event. Donations are accepted at Portsmouth's senior activity center and the YMCA of the Seacoast until Nov. 19 while monetary support can be made online. WMUR
- ➤ Nashua will mark its 30th Annual Winter Stroll on November 29 with a candlelit procession that begins at 5 p.m. led by Santa Claus and Mayor Jim Donchess; Main Street will host a winter wonderland with a synthetic ice-skating rink, a 40-foot snow tubing slide, and free rides on a trackless train along with live performances and local vendors. - ➤ WMUR is partnering with New Hampshire Food Bank to accept donations today so households can get enough supplies before Thanksgiving. The Food Bank reported a 36% rise in distribution across over 400 agencies in the last month and will use the funds to purchase extra food at lower prices—every dollar donated yields roughly a meal and a half for families facing food insecurity.
