COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ A working list of Halloween trick-or-treat dates and times was released for New Hampshire towns, including Nashua’s event on Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The list is updated as more towns provide details, and residents should check with local officials if their community is not listed (details subject to change). BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Eversource electrical line workers traveled to Overland Park, Kansas to compete at the International Lineman's Rodeo and bring home top prizes—Bob Michaud, Jason Henley and Matt Danielson won first place in the Journeyman Team Pole Climb while apprentice Calvin Edson finished fourth. The event featured several competitions that tested skill, safety and strength in the electrical trade. WMUR

- ➤ In 2024 a state employee from the Department of Business and Economic Affairs sent an email to Zhong Shanshan—China’s wealthiest man—to follow up on his visit and promote Nashua’s low taxes and production support for a planned water bottling plant. The inquiry came after Nongfu Spring bought a local warehouse for $67 million and raised national security concerns with state officials reviewing the sale. WMUR
- ➤ Sergeant George Kimball, a Nashua native, began his career in the U.S. Air Force and later spent decades helping veterans through physical therapy and employment counseling. He worked at the VA in Manchester and with federal contractors until retiring—his lifelong commitment to veteran support has made a lasting impact on our community. Nashua Ink Link
- ➤ New Hampshire leaders including the governor met Monday in Quebec City to discuss plans to improve trade ties with Canada following tariffs that strained relations (Canada remains the state’s largest trading partner with hundreds of millions in goods traded each year). Officials will soon launch the Export Accelerator Program to help small businesses connect with Canadian partners and learn export basics. WMUR
