BUSINESS NEWS

  • Today, Vail Resorts announced that after a 3% drop in skier visits last year it will change lift ticket prices at its four New Hampshire ski areas—Wildcat, Attitash, Sunapee and Crotched Mountain. The company said it will offer a friend discount for passholders and adjust prices based on popular ski dates.  WMUR
  • Today, The Nash Casino unveiled its new video lottery terminals featuring games such as Dragon Link, Lightning Link, and Phoenix Link. The casino will convert hundreds of historical horse racing machines into VLTs over several months—boosting charity contributions under a new state law.  Nashua Ink Link

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Hundreds of job opportunities will be offered at the NH-Jobs.com Job Fair at the Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester on Oct. 4.  New Hampshire Union Leader

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • People at the Mount Washington Observatory saw a bright display of northern lights around 5:30 a.m. Monday. Forecasts indicate the aurora will be visible through Monday and Tuesday next week.  WMUR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • MANCHESTER, N.H. — A new Granite State Poll shows Rep. Chris Pappas holds a small lead in the 2026 U.S. Senate race with 49% support against 43% for former Sen. John E. Sununu while 6% are unsure. If the matchup is with former Sen. Scott Brown, Pappas leads at 52% compared to 37% with 8% undecided.  WMUR

HEALTH NEWS

  • Massachusetts doctors sent patients to Nashua for imaging last summer because local hospitals had long waits and high costs; Dr. Boutwell used Tellica Imaging while Dr. Gold referred patients to centers like Derry Imaging. The New Hampshire facilities offered faster service & transparent pricing after the state did away with certificate of need laws.  New Hampshire Bulletin
  • A study by the New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute showed that drug-related deaths in New Hampshire fell to 287 in 2024 from a peak of 490 in 2017, with opioids involved in 83.6% of the deaths. The decline followed increased funding for prevention, treatment and recovery services — though nearly three in four people needing treatment did not receive it.  WMUR
