- ➤ Downtown Nashua businesspeople & religious leaders are seeking ways to address rising homelessness that is putting pressure on local shops and residents. They plan to meet with city officials & discuss steps to support the community, with talks continuing in the coming weeks. New Hampshire Union Leader
- ➤ In 1936, Nashua’s fire crews responded to a massive YWCA fire at 29 Temple St.—and handled other emergencies including a speeding apparatus crash, a training plane crash, and an ambulance light dispute with record calls by year-end. Nashua Ink Link
- ➤ United Way of Greater Nashua is asking volunteers to support the City of Nashua’s Winter Warming Station at the former Elm Street Middle School—an initiative that provides a safe haven for community members during winter months. New Hampshire Union Leader

- ➤ New Hampshire author Dan Brown released his sixth Robert Langdon novel, The Secret of Secrets, after eight years of work at a sold-out Portsmouth Music Hall event earlier this month — the book features a thrilling chase set in Prague. Brown will start his world tour soon and plans local events where he shares his creative journey with fans. WMUR
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students and educators in New Hampshire called for federal funds to be restored for the TRIO and GEAR UP programs that help low-income college hopefuls–cuts would affect 1,200 students and risk support for 4,000 more statewide. Gov. Kelly Ayotte and U.S. Rep. Maggie Goodlander said they will fight to keep these programs that provide academic counseling and college guidance. WMUR
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Parts of central and northern New Hampshire are in extreme drought while southern areas face abnormal to moderate drought. Residents have shared pictures of stressed lilacs and low water levels at Lake Winnipesaukee, and rain is expected this week though most areas will only see about an inch — much less than the nearly six inches needed to ease the drought. - ➤ Catholic Medical Center will open a new emergency room at the former Leda's Light House in Nashua — the building that once hosted glow bowling and birthday parties will be turned into a $16 million healthcare center. New Hampshire Union Leader
- ➤ New Hampshire doctors are pushing back against a White House announcement that claimed Tylenol might increase autism risk while officials urged pregnant women to avoid it. Dartmouth Health doctors said Tylenol is safe during pregnancy—citing strong data—and warned that not treating a fever could harm the baby. WMUR
