CRIME NEWS
- ➤ State officials are working with relatives to return the remains of Rea Rasmussen—the fourth Bear Brook murder victim identified 25 years after her body was found in a barrel—to her family, as she was one of four people killed in Allenstown in the late 70s or early 80s by her father Terry Rasmussen while investigators continue to search for answers about her missing mother Pepper Reed. - ➤ A student who said she was sexually assaulted by former security guard Christopher Cowell filed a lawsuit against Pinkerton Academy and him, claiming the school did not keep students safe and that she needs compensation for medical care and pain — Cowell was fired and now faces indictments. - ➤ The Board of Aldermen will act tonight on legislations that include banning the sale of kratom to anyone under 21 — a measure recommended by the Board of Health. - ➤ Months after a murder-suicide in Berlin left Marisol Fuentes-Huaracha dead, leaders from the state’s top domestic violence group are drafting bills to strengthen victims’ rights and improve records sharing between courts and law enforcement.
