  • NH Chronicle reports that fried clams and fluffy chowder will be sampled at this weekend's Seafood Festival while a local all-star, known as the greens mower, is featured; the event will offer taste tests of big catches + highlight local flavors for festival-goers.  WMUR

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Consumer Reports says retailers are offering strong deals on major home purchases throughout September. Discounts include $600 off a queen Casper Dream mattress and savings on LG washing machines, battery-powered leaf blowers, and portable grills—promising extra savings as fall approaches.  WMUR
  • Some Eversource workers and system operators protested in Manchester on Wednesday, September 3, saying they faced unfair work schedules and proposals that offered a pay cut for unionizing— and they demanded fair work hours and negotiations for their first union contracts. Tony Sapienza of IBEW highlighted issues with contracts that lacked a grievance process.  WMUR

  • A Manchester man was accused of selling a fatal dose of fentanyl—believed to have caused the 2024 overdose death of 19-year-old Isabella Spain—as reported by Merrimack Police.  New Hampshire Union Leader

  • Today, the 157th Air Refueling Wing at Pease flew its new KC-46A Pegasus tankers that replaced older KC-135 planes and can carry more fuel, cargo, and people—members of ESGR joined the flight to see the improvements up close.  WMUR
  • A committee formed after a murder-suicide in Berlin is reviewing domestic violence deaths to find system gaps and stop further loss. The Domestic Violence Fatality Review Committee will meet for the first time in about a month+ it will issue a public report every two years.  WMUR

SPORTS NEWS

  • Concord native Tara Mounsey, a member of the U.S. Olympic women's hockey team, will be inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame on Dec. 10 in Saint Paul—she won gold in 1998 and silver in 2002.  WMUR
