  • Front Door Agency introduced three new board members—Sue Beaubien, Rebecca Lammare, and Stephen Lynn—to bring finance, legal, and community leadership expertise as they work to strengthen the agency's mission to end homelessness in Greater Nashua.  Nashua Ink Link

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Executive councilors pressed state energy officials over unspent federal funds, warning that delays in federal guidance might block heat pump installations needed before a cold winter — a setback for low- and moderate-income families. Officials said they are waiting for Washington to provide clear direction so they can spend the funds from the Inflation Reduction Act.  WMUR
  • On Aug. 27, three new candidate petitions were filed at City Hall in Ward 1 and Ward 7—Andrew Vaughan is running for moderator, Monica Dove for Selectman, and Avalon Lewis has filed for moderator. Ward 5 candidate Brenda Garneau also filed her petition Tuesday and highlighted her long-standing ties to Nashua and her local business experience.  Nashua Ink Link
  • State Attorney General John Formella is investigating a $67M sale of a Nashua warehouse to Nongfu Spring (China's leading bottled water producer) after the property sold for four times its asking price. Executive councilors are asking if a foreign ownership review was done (or if federal agencies were consulted) and urging Formella to share his findings soon.  WMUR

  • Merrimack's Mickey Gasper hit his first MLB home run in the ninth inning for the Minnesota Twins Tuesday night — his hit tied the game against Toronto and led to a win. Exeter's Cody Morissette also hit his first AAA home run and was promoted to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp last week.  WMUR
