- ➤ Nashua police are asking for help finding 36-year-old George Porter, a man missing since June who is 5 feet 7 inches and 115 pounds with a shaved head and a tattoo of a skeleton drinking from a wine glass on his left forearm—his family says his disappearance is unusual, and officers believe he may have traveled to Brockton, Boston or Lowell, Massachusetts while urging anyone with information to call 603-589-1665. - ➤ The University System of New Hampshire will end a six year tuition freeze as local state colleges raise tuition and fees, with UNH Durham and Keene State rising about 2.5 percent, Plymouth State 3 percent, and UNH online program 5.1 percent higher while room and board costs climb—officials said cuts in state funding and inflation are forcing colleges to charge more—which may drive more students to choose schools in other states. - ➤ Public safety telecommunicators and dispatchers can now get reimbursement for course costs under a program for first responders—this change takes effect with House Bill 2 for Fiscal Year 2026 and covers non-credit or degree courses at state community colleges.
