CRIME NEWS

  • Nashua parents Jasmine Cedar-Fultz and Xorrel Cabrera were arrested on August 20 on charges of negligent homicide after their 4-month-old son died from septic shock on Oct. 17, 2024—court proceedings are set for Aug. 28 at 10 a.m.  Nashua Ink Link
  • Nashua Police are asking the public for help locating George Porter—36 years old and last seen in the area in June—after his family reported him missing on July 28, and he may have traveled to Brockton, Boston, or Lowell.  Nashua Ink Link
  • A Nashua man, 22-year-old Jordy Molina, is accused of sexually assaulting a woman he met on a dating app last week, and investigators found evidence at the residence where the incident occurred — Molina appeared virtually in court Monday and was released on personal recognizance bail with a requirement to undergo a mental health evaluation within seven days.  WMUR

CULTURE NEWS

  • Graham Nosworthy, a former camper and now camp historian at YMCA Camp Dakota in Richmond, is leading a project to research the 12 lost Takodians who died in World War II—using old photos, records and interviews to bring their stories to light. The project will preserve the memory of these young heroes and provide families with more than a name on a plaque.  WMUR

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Upbeat New Hampshire, an after-school music program, is celebrating 14 years of teaching local students and is now expanding its Youth Orchestra to recruit string, wind, brass and percussion players from across Southern New Hampshire for a performance in February. Registration for the 2025–2026 school year is open as the program continues its partnership with local schools and United Way.  Nashua Ink Link

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A state-sponsored group will leave for Canada early next month to boost business ties amid a drop in tourism and uncertain tariffs. Government leaders will join the multi-day trade mission on Sept. 8—further plans will teach local companies how to trade with Canada.  WMUR
  • City office candidates have begun filing paperwork today for Nashua’s November municipal elections as several current office holders—along with new hopefuls—have announced their intentions. More candidates are expected to file in the coming days.  New Hampshire Union Leader

HEALTH NEWS

  • Downtown Medical Associates in Nashua is urging residents to boost their immune systems this fall by eating healthy foods like fruits & vegetables, getting quality sleep, and exercising regularly.
