CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A New Hampshire man, 48-year-old Jonathan Bedell, was arrested after allegedly firing his gun at officers during a multi-state chase that began when he was seen on I-95 in North Carolina—he struck another car, fled into Virginia, and reportedly fired inside a building before discarding his weapon. - ➤ A man from the Dominican Republic pleaded guilty to his role in a Manchester drug trafficking organization after police found 1,600 grams of fentanyl and 480 grams of cocaine during searches in September 2024—he will be sentenced in December. WMUR
- ➤ Patrick Walsh, convicted for the 1995 killing of Cheri Newman in Connecticut and the burial of her body in New Hampshire, asked for a new trial yesterday after his lawyer claimed evidence was withheld—an informal witness deal and missing phone records—raising questions about a possible motorcycle gang link. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Merchants Exchange Building has been a downtown landmark since 1870 and is now home to Martha’s Exchange — a longtime hub for local businesses.
