GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Kelly Ayotte will sign Senate Bill 267 that increases penalties for paying for sex by imposing a mandatory $500 fine and reclassifying the offense as a Class A misdemeanor — punishable by up to one year in jail and a $2,000 fine. The law, sponsored by Sen. Donovan Fenton, takes effect on Jan. 1, 2026 and aims to fight human trafficking. Nashua Ink Link
- ➤ City officials say the winter warming station will open on December 1 at Elm Street Middle School and run every night until April 15 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. with extra hours on some holidays, and they plan more volunteer training — and a security officer to help manage issues seen last winter. - ➤ Helen Westergren from UNH Cooperative Extension at Sanborn Mills Farm in Loudon explained which shade-loving plants like ferns, Christmas tree ferns, hairy lip ferns and American wild ginger do well in low light.
