- ➤ A man was sentenced Monday to at least 14 years in prison for a fatal crash that killed Brandee LaBarge in April 2024—he drove off Amherst Road in Nashua while fleeing a domestic violence call, admitted being drunk, and flipped his car near a pond while also facing requirements for substance use treatment and a 14-year license revocation after release. - ➤ Casella Waste Management is contesting a state decision that denied its permit for a 180-acre landfill near Forest Lake State Park in Dalton as it sued in Merrimack County Superior Court over missing documentation and new siting rules; opponents have also appealed the ruling saying the denial did not fully address safety concerns.
