COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Nashua will host the expanded Summer Stroll on July 26 from 3-8 p.m. on Main Street where nearly 80 vendor tents, food trucks and family activities will be on display+Main Street will be closed from 1:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. to manage traffic and enhance safety.  Nashua Ink Link
  • The Front Door Agency launched Project Joy on July 15 with a Christmas in July celebration at their Norwell House in Nashua where 30 children and families enjoyed food, fun and a visit from Santa — the event started a fundraising drive with a goal of raising $10,000 aided by a $5,000 matching gift to expand the holiday program.  Nashua Ink Link

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A garage fire early Friday morning threatened two Nashua homes—forcing evacuations though no one was hurt, according to Nashua Fire Rescue.  New Hampshire Union Leader
  • On July 18, 2025, Nashua firefighters from Crown Hill station responded to a heavy fire in a 1-story detached garage at 64 ½ Arlington Street near Arlington and King and used hose lines to stop the flames and evacuate nearby homes (calls came in at 2:56 a.m.), with no injuries reported as the Fire Marshal’s Office investigates the cause.  Nashua Ink Link

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Ayotte signed a law that makes trash companies show plans to manage leachate—the toxic liquid made when rain mixes with landfill waste—and follow new rules for building or expanding dumps. Lawmakers pushed for tougher safety rules after past spills and violations raised health and environmental concerns.  New Hampshire Bulletin
  • Mayor Donchess clarified at a Board of Aldermen meeting on June 10 that Nashua is not involved in selling or setting prices for private properties and that reports linking the city to Nongfu Spring purchasing 80 Northeastern Boulevard are inaccurate. He explained that the city only learned of the project when a construction permit was applied for and later withdrawn—confirming that Pennichuck Corporation’s assets and water rights remain unchanged.  Nashua Ink Link
  • Amber Morgan, a Nashua native and small business owner—also a mom and civic leader—announced her candidacy for Alderman At-Large to build on her work in local neighborhoods and downtown. Her campaign will focus on reforming housing approvals, cutting red tape and boosting downtown safety.  Nashua Ink Link
