CRIME NEWS

  • Officials are asking for help finding Manchester man David Morin Jr., who was last seen in Londonderry last Sunday after a crash in Stratham left his car totaled last Saturday; he may have taken a bus to Manchester amid concerns for his declining cognitive health.  WMUR

CULTURE NEWS

  • On July 13 from noon to 3 p.m., the Nashua Historical Society invites families to explore the Abbot-Spalding House Museum and the Florence H. Speare Memorial Museum where guided tours, interactive exhibits, film screenings at 12:45 p.m. and 2 p.m., and a scavenger hunt showcase Nashua’s heritage. Guests pay $10 for non-member tours at the Abbot-Spalding House while admission is free at the Speare Museum — free parking is available along Abbott Street or in the NHS lot.  Nashua Ink Link

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Nashua Community Power Coalition announced that customers will see higher bills when rates move from 9.7 cents to 13.41 cents on Aug. 1—this increase will raise charges by 38%. The new rates reflect higher costs for fuel, supply, and weather changes, and customers can opt in or out of the program.  WMUR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • New state law now lets cities create social districts—areas where people can openly drink and licensed businesses can sell alcohol. Gov. Kelly Ayotte signed House Bill 467 and the law will take effect on Sept. 5—local governments will vote on ordinances and submit boundary maps for approval.  WMUR
  • A New Hampshire superior court judge denied TikTok's motion to dismiss a lawsuit filed by the state on July 11th—state lawyers say the app harms Granite State kids' mental and physical health and collects data without parental permission. TikTok lawyers argued that third-party videos, not the app’s features, draw kids, and a similar request by Meta was denied in December.  WMUR

HEALTH NEWS

  • On Wednesday, American Medical Response released data showing that overall overdose totals in Manchester and Nashua decreased from last year — fatal overdoses increased.  New Hampshire Union Leader

  • The Nashua Silver Knights earned a 4-0 shutout win in New Britain tonight—led by a five-inning performance from Matt Fitzgibbon with eight strikeouts—and boosted their playoff hopes as they remain third in the Futures League.  Nashua Ink Link
