- ➤ Firefighters responded to a burning home on Clark Road in Londonderry just before 7:30 a.m. today and rescued a puppy while another dog escaped on its own, with the cause of the fire under investigation. WMUR
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Nashua native Nancy-Lee Rodden, a 35-year ILC Dover employee, will speak on Thursday, July 10 at 7 p.m. at the Aviation Museum of N.H. at 27 Navigator Road in Londonderry about the company’s role in space exploration—she will display a full-size replica spacesuit. Nashua Ink Link

- ➤ Fred Kocher interviewed San Evans Brown who said New England’s electricity demand will increase 11% from now until 2034. Clean Energy New Hampshire warned that rising summer use from heat pumps and electric vehicles may push rates higher if new renewable projects are not built. WMUR

- ➤ Ryan Duvarney—a Nashua South graduate—won a national medal at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta after competing in architectural drafting. He will attend Texas Tech University this fall to study general architecture. WMUR
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Between 1957 and 1960, Nashua police struggled to recruit qualified officers and spent record dollars on cruisers while changing hiring rules and censoring publications deemed obscene — these moves came as growing population and industrial growth raised concerns about crime.
