ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Aiden Sloan, a Milford teenager, broke his neck, bruised his spine and suffered a concussion when he dove into a wave at Hampton Beach on June 26th — his cousin pulled him out and he was taken first to Portsmouth Regional Hospital then moved to a Boston hospital where doctors inserted rods and screws in his neck, and he now remains in intensive care. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ An affidavit from a 2003 cold case in Milford led investigators to arrest Douglas Herlihy for the second-degree murder of his father, Paul Herlihy, who was found dead in his home four days after a phone call on Aug. 23, 2003—police say a probable cause hearing is set for 9 a.m. on July 3. WMUR

- ➤ New Hampshire lawmakers passed a state budget bill on Thursday afternoon after a narrow vote in the House—lawmakers reconsidered the bill following an initial defeat, and Gov. Kelly Ayotte said it will now go to her desk. WMUR
- ➤ Government leaders and state agencies in New Hampshire are pushing to remove DEI initiatives from government, education, and businesses amid executive orders that call these programs illegal and anti-meritocracy — a move that affects federal funding eligibility. Local colleges, nonprofits, and companies are reviewing contracts and programs to remain compliant and maintain funding — many already report uncertainty about adapting to these new rules. - ➤ New Hampshire is seeing more older adults as people live longer, and state officials and local experts are researching ways to update supports for housing, transportation, and health care—by 2030 there will be more residents aged 65 and older than children, according to a state report. WMUR
