- ➤ The YMCA of Greater Nashua cut the ribbon on a new 44 kW rooftop solar array at Westwood Park YMCA on May 30 to lower energy costs and boost sustainability. The project installed about 1,400 panels and upgraded the electrical capacity from 600 to 800 amps+ changed the voltage from 208 to 480 volts+. Nashua Ink Link
- ➤ Granite Staters raised over $3,600,000 during this year’s New Hampshire Gives fundraiser which ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 12—this money will support more than 600 nonprofits. Donations can still be made online. WMUR
- ➤ On June 10, the Mayor’s Volunteer Recognition Committee honored the Humane Society for Greater Nashua with the 2025 Gate City Light Award for its animal care and service—making it the only nonprofit to win the award twice. - ➤ A woman convicted of killing a man with her car during a baseball argument in 2008 was granted parole by the board on Thursday—her release is set for Aug. 4—and her good behavior and program participation helped secure the decision—while the victim’s mother forgave her. WMUR

- ➤ The Conservation Law Foundation said the state’s permit will let the Manchester Wastewater Treatment Facility let PFAS go into the Merrimack River — a move that many fear may hurt the water, prompting calls for a closer look at the plan. New Hampshire Union Leader

- ➤ Former college star and field hockey coach Chelsey Bettencourt suffered a rare spinal stroke on September 2 after cracking her neck, which left her temporarily paralyzed and led to intensive rehabilitation.
