  • Sida, an 8 year old domestic shorthair cat, arrived at the Animal Rescue League after her previous owner faced housing restrictions and she was initially very shy but soon learned to trust with gentle care. The shelter now says she is ready for a quiet home where she will be the only pet.  WMUR

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Michael Skelton, president and CEO of the Business & Industry Association, said the legislature worked on plans for housing, education and energy amid a tight budget. The Senate restored funding for housing appeals and university programs and advanced energy bills for solar arrays and small modular reactors + the changes aim to support future growth.  WMUR

CRIME NEWS

  • A Salem man faces eight charges for trafficking cocaine, fentanyl and meth as 32-year-old Jose Beltre Castro is accused of selling drugs in three incidents in February and March and could face decades in prison and heavy fines if convicted — authorities said.  WMUR

CULTURE NEWS

  • On July 10th, 1917, a fire broke out in the basement of the Nashua Telegraph building, prompting a general alarm in a busy area and leading to the arrest of an inebriated individual who shouted orders at firefighters. Later that year, new motorized fire engines were added to modernize the department—marking a shift away from horse-drawn apparatus.  Nashua Ink Link

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Electric vehicle registrations in Nashua increased by 29% in 2024 compared to 2023 as better EV technology, more charging stations, and a focus on the environment drove the rise.
