- ➤ Over the weekend, Nashua’s Community Development division and Plan New Hampshire hosted a design charrette in the Millyard District where local residents shared ideas for better connectivity, improved signage, and more recreational green spaces. Designers and planners toured the area and used the feedback to create strategies that emphasize safety, historic preservation, and community-oriented events—setting a clear vision for the district’s revitalization. - ➤ Monday night, a bullet shattered a car window in Nashua when Michael Lavoie and Jesse Sexton left a McDonald’s parking lot on East Hollis Street around 8:30 p.m.—no one was hurt even though Lavoie said his son's car seat was in the back when glass flew in, and police are investigating the incident. - ➤ The New Hampshire Secretary of State’s Office has launched a contest for residents aged 18 and over to redesign heirloom marriage certificates that combine the joy of marriage with the beauty of New Hampshire—an idea inspired by an 1886 certificate. The contest opens Friday and runs until Sept. 5, with entries submitted through the office website. WMUR
- ➤ Today, the state Senate will vote on a budget that cuts funding for housing programs needed to help local towns ease zoning rules—this move may worsen the housing crisis for families. - ➤ The New Hampshire Judicial Branch is asking anyone with court experience to share their thoughts through an online survey built with help from the National Center for State Courts — all responses are secure and anonymous. - ➤ More than 600 Special Olympics New Hampshire athletes will begin competing in the 2025 State Summer Games at UNH Durham on Friday, June 6 and Saturday with sports such as athletics, bocce, powerlifting, aquatics and equestrian events. The event will also feature a preview Police—versus Fire Baseball Scrimmage at 4:30 p.m., a Parade of Athletes at 7 p.m. and community displays, and it is presented by Associated Grocers of New England with local sponsors supporting the weekend activities.
