EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A family asked ConVal High School to change its rules after 17-year-old Damien Cronan was killed in a car crash last September in Dublin (where his death meant he did not receive a diploma). His stepfather, James, said the school board will revisit the policy at its June 3rd meeting (a proposed emergency session) and that graduation will include honors for students who died this school year. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Eversource has released an educational guide on reptiles and amphibians seen near its power crews as part of World Turtle Day on Friday — the guide features art by local wildlife artist Matt Patterson. Crew director Sean Redding said the team sometimes pauses work to perform turtle sweeps and move turtles to safety. WMUR
- ➤ Today, Jacqueline Thomas spoke with Sean O'Brien from UNH Cooperative Extension about how winter left rhododendrons with drooping, brown leaves due to cold, dry winds draining their moisture. O'Brien advised homeowners to wait for natural recovery or prune damaged parts and protect the plants — such as with burlap and mulch — if the damage persists. WMUR
