  • Lydia, a 6-year-old hound mix who recently relocated from Tennessee, is seeking a new home in Bedford. Weighing 36 pounds and loving fetch, she should live without cats and could join families with respectful kids or another dog after a successful meet-and-greet + check with the Animal Rescue League for details.  WMUR

CULTURE NEWS

  • Mayor Dana Sargent bought the land for the North Common to build a park, school, and fire station, and Nashua later named Sargent Avenue in his honor. His work helped shape local landmarks & remains a key part of our community history.  Nashua Ink Link
  • The Front Door Agency presents 'Just Another Day,' a benefit performance featuring Dan Lauria and Patty McCormack at Souhegan High School on May 30 at 7:30 p.m. and May 31 at 2 p.m. (All ticket proceeds support local housing programs.)  Nashua Ink Link

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Nashua School Board will review the district’s AP program details and special education reconfiguration proposals for elementary schools today at 6 p.m. in the board room at Nashua North High School (8 Titan Way).  Nashua Ink Link
  • Local high schools represented New Hampshire at the FIRST Robotics world championship in Houston from April 29 to May 2 & competed against 600 teams in robotics challenges.  New Hampshire Union Leader

SPORTS NEWS

  • Merrimack native Mickey Gasper, a former Nashua Silver Knights player, went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a double on Sunday for the Red Sox, recording his first hit in a Boston uniform during a 4-1 loss to the Rays.  WMUR
