COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ On May 30 and May 31, Nashua’s Community Development Division and PlanNewHampshire will host a two-day design charrette in the third-floor auditorium at City Hall—229 Main Street—to develop a revitalization plan for the Millyard District. Community members can join public brainstorming workshops and a presentation to offer input on new housing, economic development, and riverfront access. Nashua Ink Link
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Breeze Airways began service from Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) on May 7. The new route joins its flights to Orlando, Tampa and Charleston and operates twice weekly on Thursday and Sunday. Nashua Ink Link

- ➤ The 18th Annual Nashua International Sculpture Symposium held its opening ceremony at the Picker Arts Building today—Mayor Jim Donchess was in attendance—and four international female artists will begin crafting large-scale sculptures in public view from May 12 through May 28, with a closing ceremony scheduled for May 31. - ➤ NH author Shirley Phillips—who once made an emergency landing at Manchester Airport—will discuss her memoir How Not To Fly An Airplane: A Female Pilot's Journey at Balin Books in Nashua on Saturday May 24th at 2 p.m., and the event is free and open to all readers. Nashua Ink Link
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Data from 2019 to 2023 shows that about 126,667 mothers with children under 18 lived in the state—nearly 80% worked and made up 13% of the workforce. Mothers with school-aged children have worked more steadily than those with younger kids. Granite Post
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Fabian Schmidt, a German-American Nashua resident, was detained by immigration officials on March 7 while returning from Luxembourg and held at Wyatt Detention Facility in Rhode Island—he was released this week and has now returned home. His partner asked for privacy and said further updates will be shared on social media. Nashua Ink Link
- ➤ Eligible New Hampshire homeowners can apply for property tax relief through the Low and Moderate Income Homeowners Program until June 30 (single homeowners earning up to $37,000 or married homeowners up to $47,000 with a homestead valued at $220,000 or less). Last year the program distributed more than $1.1 million in tax relief and has provided nearly $50 million in assistance since its launch in 2002. Nashua Ink Link
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Close to 200 community members joined a suicide prevention walk in Hudson on Saturday morning for Mental Health Awareness Month. Two Alvirne High School students organized the event with teacher Donna Morin and raised about $13,000— all money will go to the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention. WMUR
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ In April, single-family home prices reached a median of $528,000—up 2.5% from last April—while closed sales dropped slightly to 786 and inventory rose to 1.6 months, far below the six months needed for a balanced market. Nashua Ink Link
