CULTURE NEWS

  • The First Church will host renowned organist James Kennerley for the final program celebrating its historic Anderson organ's 100th anniversary. The performance is one of several planned to honor the instrument's legacy.  New Hampshire Union Leader
  • Ice Gold, a documentary, premiered at The Music Hall in Portsmouth and recounts how NHL All-Star Rick Middleton & Seacoast entrepreneur Tom Moulton transformed a struggling sled hockey team into a Paralympic champion. It traces the team’s journey from its humble 2001 beginnings to its sixth gold medal win.  WMUR
  • Aubry Bracco of Hampton Falls remains the only New England competitor in Survivor Season 50 as it heads toward the finale — the season concludes May 20 on CBS, with episodes available on Paramount+ the next day.  Granite Post
  • Renaissance on the Riverwalk will be held from May 22-25 at Nashua’s renovated riverside park and will feature live music, food trucks, art projects, a rubber duck regatta, and a Memorial Day parade; many activities are free (including bunny yoga and a petting zoo).  Nashua Ink Link

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The latest report from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows drought conditions worsened in southeastern areas, especially Rockingham County, as a precipitation deficit continues since late 2025. A low-pressure system will bring up to an inch of rain on Saturday to help ease conditions, with scattered showers into Sunday.  WMUR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Kelly Ayotte pushed lawmakers for a bill that would expand insurance coverage for children’s mental health services, and she joined advocates for Mental Health Awareness Month yesterday. The governor criticized insurers such as Anthem — calling for stronger support to fill coverage gaps.  WMUR
  • A bill to deregulate home schooling advanced out of the Senate, with lawmakers planning further steps to relax education rules in New Hampshire. Officials said more details will be released as the process moves forward.  New Hampshire Union Leader

HEALTH NEWS

  • Elliot Health System held its 8th annual Garden Party Thursday night at Manchester Country Club to raise funds for its Intensive Care and Neonatal Intensive Care Units. Funds will support state-of-the-art equipment and critical care resources.  WMUR
