  • During the Karen Read retrial yesterday, a cell phone data expert testified—analyzing phone records—that a key search for 'How long to die in cold' happened hours after Officer O’Keefe’s body was found rather than at 2:27 a.m. as the defense claimed.  WMUR

CULTURE NEWS

  • Nashua Community Arts invites local and affiliated visual artists to apply for upcoming exhibitions at Sandy Cleary Community Art Gallery at the Nashua Center for the Arts. The Gallery Selection Committee will review applications to choose artists for displays from August through November and there is no fee or commission on sold work (all submissions must be made online).  Nashua Ink Link
  • Lee Frank, owner of Otis in Exeter and a 2024 James Beard Award semifinalist, is competing for a $250,000 prize on NBC’s Yes, Chef!—judged by Martha Stewart and José Andrés, he aims to overcome a chip on his shoulder to show he can be a team player while his episode, which premiered April 28, is now streaming.  Granite Post

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The House approved a bill that would let landlords evict tenants without cause when a lease ends—now the Senate Commerce Committee is set to review the proposal. Critics say that if signed by the governor, the law will add risks in our tight housing market by making evictions easier and may increase homelessness.  Nashua Ink Link
  • Yesterday, Manchester-Boston Regional Airport began enforcing new Real ID rules and reported smooth travel with no delays—officials noted 98% local compliance due to extra TSA staff and a public awareness campaign. Officials said travelers without a Real ID or approved alternative can still fly, but they may be directed to another security line that might take longer.  WMUR
