- ➤ Alanna Flood finished her first Boston Marathon yesterday and raised over $110,000 for Special Olympics New Hampshire, while first grader Ivy from Berlin delivered hand-painted vases with flowers to a local nursing home and 20 volunteers cuddled animals overnight at the SPCA + boosting community spirit. - ➤ The Nashua Area Artists Association will present the 73rd Greeley Park Art Show at Greeley Park from Aug. 29-30 at 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Artists must register by May 30 for a free juried event featuring awards in several art media & new features like shared tents and planned entertainment. - ➤ UNH closed its undergraduate nursing enrollment after filling 110 seats from over 2,000 applicants, with fall deposits due by May 1. Officials noted students can explore public health or health sciences while expansion plans (and more capacity) are expected soon. WMUR
- ➤ Kevin Skarupa visited kindergartens at Lamprey River Elementary in Raymond and at Street School and Head Start in Nashua, discussing lightning, tornadoes and the water cycle with students who shared weather songs and gave him mementos (a hat and a sweatshirt) during his popular school visits. - ➤ Dry weather continues today and tomorrow, but soaking rain is expected Thursday with scattered showers Friday to ease brush fire danger and lower high pollen counts. Concord is more than 1.5 inches below its April average and over 4 inches below since the year began, highlighting the rain's need. WMUR

- ➤ Granite VNA invites community members to join a volunteer training program to support hospice patients and families starting Thursday, May 7. Training will provide guidance for those who want to make a positive impact in local healthcare. New Hampshire Union Leader

- ➤ Defending state champion Bishop Guertin boys lacrosse beat Concord on Saturday at a local field. Jack Redfern and Owen King powered the team to build an 11-0 run in the second quarter (highlighting a strong performance) before Concord could catch up. WMUR
