ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Pilot Rob Holland died yesterday when his plane crashed while trying to land at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia for an air show, and friends in New Hampshire honor his long career and kind spirit—his donated flight uniform sits in storage at the Aviation Museum of New Hampshire— as a reminder of his passion for flying.  WMUR

ECONOMY NEWS

  • On Friday, U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan met with workers at Belletetes who reported a 40% rise in the cost of some imported materials—fueling concerns amid New Hampshire's housing crisis. The tariffs are making it more difficult to boost affordable housing supply.  WMUR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Federal officials said on Friday in a Massachusetts federal court that Immigration and Customs Enforcement manually restored visa statuses for over 1,200 international students whose records were removed without warning weeks ago. A Dartmouth College doctoral student, who had filed a lawsuit after his visa was shown as revoked in the college system, was among those affected and next steps remain uncertain.  WMUR
  • The New England First Amendment Coalition has recommended changes to rules for public participation during Board of Mayor and Aldermen meetings, and the full board will soon vote on these proposals. The vote could soon affect how residents participate in city meetings.  New Hampshire Union Leader
  • House Bill 60 + proposed by Rep. Bob Lynn may let landlords end leases without a reason if they give a 60 day notice. Local housing advocates say the change will worsen the tight rental market for low-income families, seniors and people with disabilities.  Granite Post
