CULTURE NEWS

  • Local businesses including Dragonfly Dough Company in Derry and Sourdough Pizzeria in New Ipswich are riding a sourdough craze (with innovative recipes like cinnamon rolls and nutrient-rich pizzas) while Bigfoot Sourdough in Milford experiments with creative treats.  WMUR
  • Symphony NH will present New Hampshire Passions on Saturday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Keefe Auditorium, 117 Elm Street, where finalist Tianhui Ng will blend classical music with science and host a pre-concert talk at 6:30 p.m. with guest composer David Ibbett and astrophysicist Sheperd Doeleman.  Nashua Ink Link
  • A new series explores Nashua’s historic hotels, detailing the Indian Head Coffee House built around 1796 and its evolution from the city’s first hotel to a church site, marking a key change on Library Hill (now home to the First Congregational Church). EDUCATION NEWS

  • A Nashua High School South student launched CheckMates in January 2025 to teach chess to elementary and middle school students and boost critical thinking; the program now reaches 1,000 students across 25 chapters internationally and will soon register as a nonprofit to secure curriculum funding and equipment.  Nashua Ink Link
  • The Nashua Board of Education voted Monday night to reinstate the Title 1 Preschool Program for the 2026-2027 school year. The program will operate at five elementary schools with 75 spots available via lottery, and job ads+ for staffing will be posted after April vacation.  Nashua Ink Link

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A federal jury in Manhattan found Ticketmaster and Live Nation operated an illegal monopoly over major concert venues, including in New Hampshire, following a four-day trial. Attorney General John Formella said the verdict will lead to remedies — a separate trial will determine potential financial penalties.  WMUR

HEALTH NEWS

  • Kate Carney — a Salem nurse practitioner — will run the Boston Marathon this spring to honor her late father and raise awareness for heart disease and stroke as part of Tedy's Team; she recalls his sudden death at 48 as a catalyst for her mission.  WMUR

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • March home sales in New Hampshire improved after a slow February with more closed and pending deals. In Nashua, median prices dropped slightly and inventory rose to 0.6 months—keeping the market tight for buyers.  Nashua Ink Link

SPORTS NEWS

  • Therese (64) and Bryan (64) Kerman from Salem started with simple walks and now will run the Boston Marathon on April 20 after completing world major races, and they look forward to tackling the hills while enjoying community cheers along the route.  WMUR
