- ➤ Since launching on April 7th, 2020, Nashua's Pop-Up Pantries have served 40,072 residents with essential groceries every weekday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. — rising food insecurity in our community makes this work more critical every day. Nashua Ink Link
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Kevin Skarupa visited kindergartners at Dr. Crisp Elementary in Nashua to discuss clouds, lightning, and rainbows, and the children honored him by creating a sign and a book. WMUR
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Thursday the House Finance Committee finalized its budget package that cuts spending from Gov. Kelly Ayotte's plan amid low revenue expectations. The package includes cuts to state agency positions and programs and will go for a full House vote on April 10 before moving to the state Senate. New Hampshire Bulletin
- ➤ The Nashua School Board sent its proposed $137M fiscal budget to aldermen after an evening of community discussion on Wednesday night—board member Heather Raymond said the community commentary was wonderful and the vote was 6–2. New Hampshire Union Leader
- ➤ Rep. Chris Pappas announced his Senate run today with a social media video that shows his Manchester roots and record on Capitol Hill—he said he wants to fight special interests and improve public service. His move comes after Sen. Jeanne Shaheen said she would not seek re-election in 2026. WMUR
- ➤ The City invites the public to two redevelopment meetings for the old Elm Street Middle School site—one on April 10 at 5:30 p.m. and one on April 12 at 1 p.m. at City Hall’s third-floor auditorium where two finalists from last year’s RFP process will present proposals and answer questions. - ➤ Boston Bruins legend Patrice Bergeron visited The Nash Casino in Nashua on Thursday evening for a Q&A session celebrating five years of sports betting—he said his chances of coming out of retirement were slim.
