CRIME NEWS

  • The FBI’s Boston Division warned property owners and real estate agents that quit claim deed fraud has cost NH residents millions by transferring home titles without their knowledge.  New Hampshire Union Leader

  • NH Chronicle says West Pearl Street in downtown Nashua is emerging as a lively hub for local shops and cafes—adding a fresh burst of energy to the area.  WMUR

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Some Canadian tourists are rethinking trips to the United States this year—citing boycott calls from their leaders—and this may slow tourism in the state. Tourism officials in Claremont said they will welcome visitors and expect numbers to bounce back once trade tensions ease.  WMUR

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Nashua School District began reviewing its proposed 2026 operating budget three weeks ago and the process is now entering its final phase this week.  New Hampshire Union Leader
  • Merrimack High School’s FIRST Robotics team, Chop Shop 166, won the Impact Award and was named Event Finalists at the UVM District Event on March 28th and 29th in Burlington, VT. Today the team will travel to the New England District Championships in Springfield, MA to compete against 96 teams for a chance to represent New England at the FIRST Championships in Houston, TX at the end of April.  Nashua Ink Link

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Lawmakers in Concord heard many comments on Tuesday about House Bill 649, a plan that would end the yearly state car inspections, with police and shop workers opposing the change while some warned it could remove buyer protections and hurt safety — officials noted that without the exams, cars might be sold without knowing hidden problems. They will meet next week to listen to more views on the proposal.  WMUR
  • Today the New Hampshire Department of Transportation began work on open-road tolling equipment at the Hooksett I-93 toll booth, closing the northbound high-speed lane at 5 a.m. The ORT equipment will be replaced by Memorial Day—southbound drivers will face lane reconfigurations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. as part of the $7.1 million project led by Pike Industries.  Nashua Ink Link

  • The Fisher Cats will open their 2025 season on Friday at Delta Dental Stadium—facing the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. First-year manager Brant Lavallee said media day helped the players get ready to show they belong and aim to win.  WMUR
