CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police said a 32-year-old man was stabbed multiple times outside McDonald's on East Hollis Street around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night and taken to a hospital with serious injuries—23-year-old Jose Vasquez was arrested and charged with first-degree assault—in connection with the fight. WMUR
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Symphony NH’s search committee selected five finalists for its next music director after reviewing 30 applications and holding video and Zoom interviews. Each finalist will lead a concert in the 2025-26 Classics season — giving the community a chance to help choose the successor for Maestro Roger Kalia, who will step down at the end of the 2024-25 season. - ➤ New Hampshire Commissioner of Education Frank Edelblut said Tuesday he will end his eight-year term this spring as Gov. Kelly Ayotte opts for a different direction—he will work with her to ease the transition. Edelblut will remain in holdover status until the end of next school year. New Hampshire Bulletin
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ New Hampshire lawmakers are discussing a bill that would require the state to report on how Canadian tariffs may drive up prices for businesses in the state. If passed, the commissioner of the Department of Business and Economic Affairs will have until Oct. 1—detailing cost increases and job impacts. WMUR
- ➤ Rep. Maggie Goodlander asked immigration officials to share details about Fabian Schmidt, a 34-year-old green card holder from Nashua taken into ICE custody on March 7 at Boston Logan after returning from Luxembourg—his family said he was questioned too harshly, but Customs and Border Protection said that did not happen. Goodlander said Schmidt is entitled to an immigration hearing and she has kept close contact with his family as they wait for more information. WMUR

- ➤ The Rivier men's volleyball team beat Elms 3-1 on Tuesday evening in GNAC play at Picknelly Arena+junior outside hitter Matthew McCloskey registered 14 kills to lead the win.
