COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Za Dude Pizza Co. now leads the Nashua Pizza Madness Tournament Preliminary Round with more votes than all other contestants combined, and the contest will continue for the next few days; local pizza fans can email their favorite pie photos for future updates.  Nashua Ink Link

ECONOMY NEWS

  • On Monday, regular unleaded gas cost $3.35 in New Hampshire, up 49 cents from last week, while diesel rose 75 cents; drivers for local delivery companies, including those serving lawyers & doctors in Manchester, said they are checking for cheaper gas as global conflicts drive further rises.  WMUR

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • New Hampshire is experiencing a quick shot of springlike warmth that is rapidly reducing its snowpack as officials monitor rivers for potential ice jams + early crocus blooms signal that warmer weather is approaching though temperatures will drop to the 40s by Wednesday.  WMUR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State revenue in February jumped after the Tax Amnesty Program ended on Feb. 15, bringing in $40.6 million above plan and raising the surplus for the General and Education Trust Funds. Tax collections + lottery sales may boost receipts in March and April.  Nashua Ink Link
  • New Hampshire’s Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is hosting Flood Safety Awareness Week from March 8-14, sharing daily social media updates with safety tips and preparedness guidance for residents. The Department also launched a survey for feedback and offers resources on ReadyNH.gov.  Nashua Ink Link
  • The city issued an RFP (request for proposals) to design and install a new outdoor sound system at Renaissance Park in downtown Nashua to support community events. Vendors must submit proposals by March 25 at 3 p.m. detailing a durable, even-coverage system for year-round use.  Nashua Ink Link

HEALTH NEWS

  • Thrive Stride 5K will be held at Greeley Park on Saturday, May 16 to raise awareness and support for accessible, compassionate mental health care. Organized by Greater Nashua Mental Health, the free run/walk welcomes families, runners, and advocates (earlybird registration ends March 16).  Nashua Ink Link

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • On March 5, the planning board approved Conote, LLC’s plan for a 7-lot subdivision with stormwater improvements at 164 Tinker Road. The project will build seven detached homes on a 7.18 acre lot with a new cul-de-sac (minor plan corrections pending) and is expected to start once the ground softens.  Nashua Ink Link

SPORTS NEWS

  • Goffstown’s Kyle Chauvette is a senior goalie for UNH and is tied nationally with five shutouts as he enters the final stretch of his college season. UNH will face Northeastern in Boston Wednesday in the Hockey East Tournament opener.  WMUR
