COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Earlier this week, residents at Mt. Carmel Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and Saint Teresa Rehabilitation and Nursing Center competed in an Olympic-style contest featuring volleyball, rallies, and a medal ceremony; organizers said the event brought smiles, laughter, and friendship.  WMUR

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Consumer Reports released its 2026 Top Picks list for cars, SUVs and trucks today in Manchester, N.H. — the list is based on tests of safety, performance, fuel efficiency and cargo space and features models from Subaru to Tesla.  WMUR

EDUCATION NEWS

  • At Monday night’s Board Education meeting, Harriman Architects outlined plans for the future of Nashua schools—ranging from renovating to closing or building new facilities—as part of the Facilities Master Plan. Superintendent Mario Andrade said a budget will be presented in a few weeks to guide decisions.  Nashua Ink Link

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Board of Aldermen approved renaming Arlington Street Community Center as the Gloria Timmons Community Center on Feb. 10 to honor the late public servant who founded the local NAACP chapter and served on the Board of Education.  Nashua Ink Link
  • Taxpayers in Nashua who need help filing returns can use several IRS-approved free options that remain available. The options include the IRS Free File Program, free fillable forms, and VITA/TCE sites (serving seniors, the military, and low-income filers) with eligibility based on income.  WMUR
  • State Rep. Paige Beauchemin of Nashua apologized on the House floor on Thursday for flipping off Gov. Kelly Ayotte during her State of the State address last week when frustration overwhelmed her, and she is running for Congress against Rep. Maggie Goodlander in New Hampshire's 2nd District.  WMUR

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • January real estate data showed Nashua’s median single-family home sales price increased to $525,230—a 2.2% rise from last year—while closed sales dropped to 25 properties; buyers faced a tight market with low inventory and fast-moving listings.  Nashua Ink Link

SPORTS NEWS

  • Nashua native Ebuka Okorie scored 22 points in Stanford's 70 to 64 win at Boston College on Feb. 12. The 18 year old freshman averaged 22 points per game and ranks sixth nationally in Division I + he has not yet decided on entering the NBA draft.  WMUR
  • Ryan Cochran-Siegle won a silver medal in Super-G skiing on Wednesday at the Olympic race in Manchester, N.H. His family from New Hampshire and Vermont has a long Olympic tradition + his win marks his second silver medal, following a previous finish.  WMUR
