  • Extreme cold on Sunday forced Special Olympics New Hampshire to cancel its outdoor Penguin Plunge, so organizers held an indoor party at Casino Ballroom in Hampton with a costume parade judged by WMUR’s chief meteorologist Mike Haddad. The fundraiser raised over $800,000 for community programs benefiting 3,000 athletes & proved a warming success.  WMUR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Nashua taxpayers should file early for the 2026 tax season as changes in the tax bill and IRS staffing cuts may slow processing and delay refunds.   • Patriots fans are gathering at the Thirsty Moose Taphouse in Manchester to watch Super Bowl 60 against the Seattle Seahawks as the game nears kickoff.
