- ➤ Viewers chose New Hampshire’s best florists with Shirley’s Flowers and Sweets in Nashua receiving high praise for its helpful staff. Other favorites include Ford Flower Co, The Green Griffin, Full Moon Farm and Coll’s Garden Center & Florist, which all impressed with creative arrangements. WMUR
- ➤ Journalist Laura Knoy has published her first historical novel, The Shopkeeper of Alsace, which follows Sarah as she protects her family from Nazi threats during World War II. Knoy researched and wrote the book in her Concord home and now shares it at local stores such as Gibson’s. WMUR

- ➤ Granite Staters are paying slightly more at the pump this week as a winter storm disrupted crude oil production and refinery operations nationwide. AAA said the average gas price is $2.83, two cents higher than last week + cold weather may also reduce fuel efficiency by up to 15%. WMUR
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Meteorologist Kevin Skarupa was honored by NHDOT with a new snowplow named the Skarupa Snowscoopah; he visited the truck and crew in Manchester (the crew ensures it stays ready for winter) and will soon take it for a brief ride (an upcoming New Hampshire Chronicle episode will capture the moment). - ➤ With three days left before the Super Bowl, Dr. Robert Catania (Southern New Hampshire Weight Management) advised local hosts to serve healthful options like cowboy caviar, fruit smoothies, lean chili and chocolate hummus to keep the game day fun and guilt free. WMUR
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ In Nashua, over 50,000 bets have been placed statewide for Super Bowl 60, with 88% on the New England Patriots; The Nash Casino expects a sold-out crowd and heavy wagering on Sunday (the event is still upcoming). WMUR
- ➤ Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels was named NFL Assistant Coach of the Year at the NFL Honors in Santa Clara on Feb. 5 — a win that came after his work helped lift the offense from 30th to second place and boosted quarterback Drake Maye into MVP talks. WMUR
