- ➤ Nashua emergency management is investigating why a gas leak alert meant for Nashua was sent to all phones in Hillsborough County at 2:39 p.m. Monday after firefighters responded to a gas leak and explosion; state officials will help determine the cause of the error. WMUR
- ➤ The Personnel Administrative Affairs Committee recommended renaming the Arlington Street Community Center as the Gloria Timmons Community Center (a tribute to her decades of service) in honor of the late alderwoman; the full Board of Aldermen will soon review the proposal in Nashua. - ➤ Center Conway native Mike King, who coaches for the Ottawa Senators, will serve as video coach for the U.S. men's ice hockey team at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics. He will brief the team before their preliminary round on Thursday, Feb. 12 (representing New Hampshire at the games). WMUR
- ➤ Hannes Schneider, the father of alpine skiing, fled Nazi Europe and settled in North Conway where he taught innovative downhill techniques that shaped modern ski racing. His legacy continues to influence local winter sports history. WMUR
