- ➤ A lottery ticket sold at Shell Mart on Main Dunstable Road in Nashua won a $100,000 prize after matching numbers 10, 14, 18, 22 and 30 for Monday night’s drawing. Ticket prices are $2 for Tri-State Gimme 5 (available in New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont). WMUR
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Passport to Knowledge Foundation (based in Concord) is accepting tax-deductible donations to fund travel scholarships for New Hampshire high school students to gain cultural and educational experiences. President Kelly Cooke said the program will help eligible students build confidence and see travel as a learning opportunity. Nashua Ink Link
- ➤ Board of Education members answered Q&As that reviewed past achievements such as settling teacher contracts and discussed upcoming challenges with funding and student support. - ➤ New Hampshire has reopened the Emergency Drought Assistance Program for families with dry wells to help with the high costs of drilling a new well or connecting to municipal water, and applicants must provide income information and licensed verification during a historic drought affecting nearly 250 households. - ➤ On Friday, Jan. 9 the state PUC approved an Eversource plan to raise fees for residential customers but rejected automatic $2 monthly rate hikes, showing a shift in how energy pricing will be managed. New Hampshire Union Leader
