COMMUNITY NEWS

  • After a month of operation, the winter warming station at Elm Street Middle School served 37 guests on its third night, triple the count from last year. Staffed by 3 members & 2 volunteers per shift, it connects guests to shelter, housing and health services while adding new seating options.  Nashua Ink Link

CULTURE NEWS

  • The 4th Annual Tiny Film Festival invites local filmmakers to submit a 60-second film by March 1 & the event will be held at the Nashua City Library on March 20 with prizes in each age category.  Nashua Ink Link

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Pilot Paul Russo will speak about his 100+ landings on the only FAA-approved ice runway in the Lower 48 states on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Aviation Museum of N.H. (27 Navigator Road, Londonderry), where tickets cost $10 with free entry for museum members.  Nashua Ink Link
  • Will Aubuchon, president and CEO of Aubuchon Company, will speak at the UNH CEO Speaker Series Program on Jan. 15 hosted by the CEO and Family Enterprise Center, sharing insights on family enterprise leadership.  New Hampshire Union Leader

HEALTH NEWS

  • Flu activity is very high after the holidays with six deaths reported and hospitalizations rising, and the CDC says this is the worst season in 25 years in our state (tests in Manchester jumped from 7,560 to over 15,000). More data is expected this week.  WMUR

  • The Purple Finch Cafe in Bedford celebrates Donut Week with bite-sized doughnut holes called The Finch and Bam Bam Bites made with fresh local ingredients. At the Mall of New Hampshire, LoukouMadness offers build-your-own Greek doughnut holes with choices like chocolate and ice cream.  WMUR

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • New Hampshire set a record in 2025 when the median home price reached $535,000 in November, though the rate of increase slowed overall. Analysts note that prices rose over 6% in Carroll, Grafton, and Merrimack counties (while dropping in Coos and Sullivan counties) amid regional variations.  WMUR

  • The Bedford Bulldogs defeated the Pinkerton Astros 89-58 this morning in Manchester, N.H. Bedford's boys basketball team built an early lead that turned a close contest into a blowout win.  WMUR
  • Former UNH quarterback Sean Goldrich was introduced Tuesday as the program’s 21st head coach after Rick Santos left for Penn Football — he previously coached in Delaware and aims to create a competitive environment for the Wildcats.  WMUR
